The 3rd dimension of chondrules is something I think about sometimes when viewing thin sections. In this case, I believe the bars are actually flat, parallel plates with varying diameters that create a sphere with an igneous rind around it. With that comment, the spacey professor from Animal House comes to mind. :) The photos are very very cool Jeff.
