TKW 140 grams. Fall not observed. Found 1969, Curry County, New Mexico, USA.

The MetBul says "Located in Curry Co., New Mexico, but given RC [Roosevelt County] number following the precedence of Scott et al. 1986".


 


Bernd writes:
RC 085 is more than just an ordinary L4 chondrite. What makes it extraordinary is that it contains an impact-melt rock clast - possibly from an L-group target - that can be easily identified in hand specimen and in thin section, because it is visibly lighter in color than the chondritic host. The FeNi and troilite blebs in RC 085 are quite small with FeNi metal being depleted in the impact-melt rock clast.
