Copyright (c) Dr. Svend Buhl.
1348 gram end-cut. 125 x 100 x 60 mm.   Iron, IIIAB

TKW 52.5 kg. Fall not observed. Found in November 2015 exposed on the surface by artisanal miners while prospecting for gold between Tehmet and Djado in the Tènéré Tafassasset.

Matthias writes:
Sculpted backside with dark desert patina; front side mirror polished and etched, displaying the characteristic octaedritic Widmannstaetten pattern with alternating Kamacite and Taenite. Prominent Troilite inclusion right in the centre, obviously clinched (banded structure). This fact as well as several generations of criss-crossing Neumann lines together with a series of fissures most probably indicates various strong shock events. Missing alpha2 rim, eroded by environmental extensive corrosion, points to a relatively long terrestrial resting time of this meteorite. (Research S. Buhl)

Acquired from Niger, the endcut polished and etched by Dr. Svend Buhl / Meteorite Recon, in colaboration with Andreas Gren (Meteoritehouse), Hamburg.

Main mass of ca. 50 kg with Dr. Svend Buhl / Meteorite Recon.
